Whilst from an engineering background, with a BSc degree in Industrial Design (Eng) and still running a specialist engineering business, drawing has been part of Alastair’s life since childhood.
He started with cartoons and comic strips, then draftsman’s ink drawings of construction plant and lorries.
From the 1990s Alastair moved onto Scottish castles and historical locations trying out watercolour, many such pictures featuring in his book ‘Visuals of Scotland’ published in 2021.
Riccio Gallery is presenting very affordable prints of Alastair’s original paintings plus beautiful coasters depicting distilleries, together with his book and greeting cards. Great gifts!
